The Walk è un progetto video che ricostruisce visivamente il percorso pedonale più lungo al mondo: un itinerario di oltre 22.000 chilometri che collega Cape Town, in Sudafrica, a Magadan, in Russia.
L’opera nasce dalla raccolta di più di 3.000 fotografie aeree realizzate attraverso Google Earth Studio, selezionate e montate per formare una sequenza continua. Le immagini satellitari sono state acquisite a intervalli regolari di 8 chilometri, mantenendo sempre la stessa altezza e la strada al centro dell’inquadratura, in modo da costruire un flusso visivo coerente e immersivo.
Il risultato è un viaggio virtuale che si sviluppa frame dopo frame, generando una sorta di navigazione fluida attraverso paesaggi, confini e climi diversi. The Walk trasforma la distanza in esperienza percettiva, restituendo la misura concreta — e al tempo stesso poetica — del camminare come atto universale di attraversamento e scoperta.

The Walk is a video project that visually reconstructs the longest walkable route in the world: an itinerary of over 22,000 kilometers connecting Cape Town, South Africa, to Magadan, Russia.
The work originates from a collection of more than 3,000 aerial photographs captured through Google Earth Studio, carefully selected and assembled into a continuous sequence. The satellite images were taken at regular intervals of 8 kilometers, maintaining the same altitude and keeping the road centered in the frame, in order to build a coherent and immersive visual flow.
The result is a virtual journey unfolding frame by frame, creating a kind of fluid navigation through diverse landscapes, borders, and climates. The Walk transforms distance into a perceptual experience, revealing the tangible — yet poetic — dimension of walking as a universal act of passage and discovery.
